MANAGER OF WORKS Full-time (3 to 5 year contract)
The Shire of Cranbrook is seeking an experienced individual to manage and lead the Shire’s Works and Services department. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager of Works will deliver municipal civil works including specific projects and the maintenance of Council roads, footpaths, drainage, and other infrastructure assets. Management of Council’s plant and equipment maintenance programs to industry acceptable standards will allow you to effectively conserve Council’s waste sites, fleet, parks, and reserves.
To be considered for this role, you will be skilled in engineering and civil design or possess extensive experience in a civil works project management capacity. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, proven budgetary preparation and monitoring experience, tender and contract management, as well as strong communication skills, will enable you to effectively manage team members and liaise with stakeholders and the community.
This position is offered on a performance-based contract of between three to five years with an attractive remuneration package of between $180,000 and $202,000 per annum which includes a cash component of between $120,000 and $140,000, the private use of a motor vehicle, superannuation, subsidised housing (4 x 2), utilities and other negotiable benefits. Reasonable relocation expenses are available in accordance with Council Policy 2.15.

MANAGER OF FINANCE
The Shire of Cranbrook is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated person to manage the Shire’s finances. The position offered is a permanent part-time position (three days per week) with flexible working hours available. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, management of and assistance to the Shire’s finance team, ensuring that financial audit requirements are met and appropriate financial management systems are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements, and contributing significantly to the preparation of the Shire’s annual budget and Annual Financial Statements.
The base salary is negotiable between $110,000 and $120,000 pro rata dependent upon qualifications and/or experience. The successful applicant will preferably be experienced in local government finance and management and have a TAFE or tertiary level finance qualification, be adaptable, show initiative, and be familiar with a variety of accounting software. However, the Shire of Cranbrook would encourage applicants with a strong business or accounting background to apply if they are interested in making the transition to local government, have a TAFE or tertiary level qualification, and management experience.
