TOTAL FIRE BAN – TUESDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2024

TOTAL FIRE BAN DECLARED 🔥🚫

DFES has declared a Total Fire Ban for a large portion of the state including the Shire of Cranbrook, Tuesday 20 February 2024.

On a Total Fire Ban day, it is illegal to light an open-air fire or conduct any activity that could start a fire.

  • A total fire ban means no fires in the open air.
  • ‘Open air’ means anywhere outside, including a deck, balcony, courtyard or park. In cities and towns.
  • Cooking outside is restricted to gas and electric barbecues only, with conditions.
  • No “hot works” like welding or grinding.
  • Penalties apply for breaking the rules.
