Waste

There is a compulsory weekly kerbside rubbish collection and a fortnightly recycling kerbside collection for all residents in the townsites of Cranbrook, Frankland River and Tenterden.  Waste collection calendars are available from the Shire Office or the Frankland River Community Centre, or can be downloaded here.

The Shire of Cranbrook has two Waste Facilities that are both locked and manned and are available to residents of the Shire of Cranbook.  Non residents will be required to pay for any rubbish deposited at Shire of Cranbrook Waste Facilities.

Waste Facility Passes

Tyres

All waste facility users will be required to purchase pre-paid vouchers from the Shire of Cranbrook Administration Centre or the Frankland River Community Centre prior to disposing of any tyres in the facilities. Charges are as follows:

Passenger/Motorcycle - Small Tyre $5.00 each
4x4 up to Light Truck - Medium Tyre $10.00 each
Tractor/Grader - Large Tyre $60.00 each
Earthmover - Extra Large Tyre $150.00 each

Ratepayers and Residents

Shire of Cranbrook ratepayers and residents are entitled to receive an annual waste facility pass which enables them to deposit waste at no cost, other than tyres as listed above.  This pass must be presented to the facility attendant each time they deliver waste.  The waste facility attendant will record the amount and type of waste delivered together with their details including vehicle registration numbers.
 
Waste facility passes will be posted to the owner of each property annually with rate notices.  Occupiers/tenants will be required to collect their waste facility pass from the owner of the property.
 
When a property is sold or there is a change in tenants, the waste facility pass is to remain with the property.

Any lost waste facility passes will need to be replaced at a cost of $10.00 each

Other users from outside the Shire of Cranbrook

Waste facility users that do not own property or live in the Shire of Cranbrook will be required to purchase a general waste/recycling pre-paid voucher from the Shire of Cranbrook Administration Centre or the Frankland River Community Centre prior to delivering their waste to the facility.

Other user charges

General household/recycling waste up to the equivalent of a 6 x 4 trailer load- must be sorted $30.00
General household/recycling waste up to the equivalent of 8 tonne truck load- must be sorted $250.00
                                              LARGER LOADS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED  

Waste facility pre-paid vouchers are not refundable or redeemable for cash.   Lost vouchers will not be replaced.  It will not be possible to pay for chargeable waste at either waste facility. Cash, cheques or credit cards will not be accepted under any circumstances at either facility.

Drum Muster

The Shire of Cranbrook reserves the right to refuse any drum not tripled washed.  It is essential that everyone follows the requirements of Drum Muster.
