News from the Club Development Officer

It has been a while since the Club Development Officer (CDO) has posted news online, however there have been articles put in the Cranbrook Newsletter with updates on the CDO program and training opportunities for clubs.

We have had workshops on Grant Writing, Strategic Planning, Volunteer Management (in Albany) Responsible Service of Alcohol as well as a Sports Specific Coaching Course.  Clubs also have the opportunity to utilise the services of the CDO and Basil Warner with writing a Strategic Plan and implementing it in your Club. Basil has been working in the Sport and Recreation industry since 1977! So he definitely knows what he’s on about when it comes to planning for Clubs.

Do you have a sports Champion in your Club?

Would you like to share their achievements with the rest of the Shire?

Because we certainly want to hear about it! I think it's so important to highlight the achievements of sports people in our area, hard work, perseverance and dedication are the characteristics that make these people strive to become high achievers. Also behind almost every high achiever is a club or support group, whether it's a great coach, supportive team or even a keen parent.  These other 'influences' need to be recognised for their efforts. The Club Development Officer would like to promote the achievements of your sports Champion and create a profile of the Club that helped get them there. The grass roots club is important and the volunteers that keep it running are worthy of recognition - don't you think?

If you have a Champion to be recognised please email or call the CDO!

Annual Surveys

Annual Club Surveys have been sent out and returned.  These have assisted in finding out what ways the CDO can further help clubs.

The $170 gift voucher for Ray's Sportspower for returning the survey was won by the Cranbrook Netball Club.  Congratulations and thank you to everyone else who returned their survey.

Also if you would like information about a Club in your area you can contact the CDO and get a contact number. Please don’t hesitate to call 0427 447 125 or email cdo@cranbrook.wa.gov.au
