Australian Road Safety Awards Finalist
We are pleased to announce that the Shire of Cranbrook has been named as a finalist in the Australian Road Safety Awards, with the winners being announced in Melbourne on 22 March, 2017.
The Chief Executive Officer and Manager of Works prepared an application late last year and submitted early in January. The application was for an award under the category of ‘Local Government Initiatives’, which is sponsored by the Department of Transport NSW. In the application, we focused on the safety benefits gained from the closure of the Frankland-Cranbrook East Road (commonly referred to as the Northern Two Mile) and the impact the reduction in heavy vehicles has had on the safety of residents living in a built up area.
The Shire is ecstatic at being named a finalist in this national award, which is a reflection of the hard work and effort put in by all the staff currently working at the Shire.
